PIM
PIM tests multicast routing. In Peresvet ST, you can configure a PIM instance, bind it to an interface, and specify groups, sources, an RP, or SSM scenarios. The test covers multicast routers, RP settings, PIM adjacencies, and propagation of Join/Prune messages.
Table 206 — PIM Parameters
| Name | Description | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Instance ID | PIM instance identifier | Specify a number and select it in the interface settings |
| Hello interval | Interval between PIM Hello messages | 30 seconds by default |
| Hello holdtime | PIM neighbor hold time without a Hello | 0 uses the protocol default |
| DR priority | Designated Router election priority | 1 by default |
| Join/Prune interval | Join/Prune transmission interval | 60 seconds by default |
| Join/Prune holdtime | Join/Prune state hold time | 0 uses the default |
| SSM | Source-Specific Multicast mode | Enable for scenarios with specific sources |
| RP address | Rendezvous Point address | Set for ASM scenarios |
| Teardown time | Graceful PIM teardown time | 10 seconds by default |
| Groups | Multicast groups and sources | Specify the group address, sources, start address, and count |
For ASM scenarios, specify the RP address and groups. For SSM scenarios, enable SSM and specify the sources. In metrics and logs, check the PIM adjacency state, groups, and expected Join/Prune events.
