Getting Started
Overview
Peresvet ST is software for testing network devices, applications, and infrastructure. It is supplied either as an integrated hardware-software appliance or as packages for installation on server platforms and virtual machines.
Peresvet ST generates network traffic and directs it either to real applications or to another Peresvet ST instance on the same or a separate platform. This makes it possible to emulate complete bidirectional client-server communication.
The system is configured through a web interface and provides:
- emulation of realistic client and server traffic (HTTP, PCAP/HAR Replay, Dynamic Applications, and more);
- threat simulation for testing Anti-DDoS, WAF, IPS/IDS, DLP, and other systems: TCP/UDP/ICMP floods, amplification profiles, CVE Replay, C2 campaigns (Compromised Host), and malicious file transfer (PTI);
- reproduction of network anomalies and L3-L7 fuzzing;
- TLS encryption support;
- Access Plane protocols (IPoE/PPPoE/DHCP/802.1X/LACP/STP/OpenFlow/gPTP/L2TP) and Control Plane protocols (BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, LDP, and more);
- controlled flaps and schedules on the Actions tab while a task is running;
- performance measurement and metric recording with nanosecond precision;
- high-rate traffic generation (see Performance);
- real-time reports and statistics;
- testing of individual protocols across the entire OSI model, including routing protocols (L2-L7).
Peresvet ST helps answer three key questions that every engineer faces:
- How effectively do my system's features work?
- Does my system meet cybersecurity requirements?
- Can my system handle the planned load?
